Project Dark 2 Light is Oklahoma's first real-world solution to help adult sexual trafficking victims who have escaped their captors. Certified by the Oklahoma Attorney General's office in April 2012, DaySpring Villa is the first shelter in the state qualified to provide emergency housing, medical assistance, food and clothing, protection, and advocacy services for adult trafficked women.
For many, the concept of sexual trafficking is often limited to faraway locales where young girls and boys are offered for sale or smuggled into the United States with promises of jobs and a better life. But sexual trafficking has evolved to become the second-fastest growing crime on the planet. Today, there are no land boundaries between children, teens, young adults and organized prostitution, because these victims are now our own.
Project Dark 2 Light is a program funded by caring individuals, corporations, organizations, and churches of every denomination to literally transform the lives of adult sexual trafficking survivors. Through goals-based programs and specialized staff and services, DaySpring Villa is committed to helping these survivors reclaim their lives. We work with each woman one-on-one, enabling them to heal, restore their dignity, find independence, and discover the person they were always meant to be.
While we may not end sexual trafficking in our lifetime, DaySpring Villa stands as a lifeline for adult victims who take the courageous step to escape a horrific confinement.
Stand with us and help us, help them.
